ST PHILOMENA SCHOOL STAFF
Principal
Fr.
Benoit Wailliez
I am a Belgian citizen. I
come from a large family: I am the 6th out of 10 children. My parents
are still alive. Three of my sisters are Teaching Dominican Nuns.
I was ordained in Econe,
Switzerland, in June 1997. I was first assigned in India for one year,
then I spent four years in the Philippines as vocation director of SSPX
pre-seminarians and brothers. In 2002, I was transfered to the United
States (Armada, Michigan) where I ran a parish and a primary and
secondary school until the beginning of July 2006. I then received a
brief assignment as prior of Sydney, before being appointed principal of
St. Philomena School.
I make fully mine this
definition of education given by Pope Pius XI (in Divini Illius
Magistri):
"The specific and immediate
purpose of education is to cooperate with divine grace in forming the
true and perfect Christian... the man whole and entire, soul united to
body in unity of nature, with all his faculties natural and
supernatural, the man who feels, judges and acts always and consistently
in accordance with right reason enlightened by the example and teaching
of Jesus Christ".
